Safety & Security
Security is an important part of your experience and your child's experience in Discovery Town. Security for your child is implemented through our "Check-in" kiosks and through screening all of our volunteers.
All children, from infants through 5th grade, will need to "check-in" using the kiosk outside of their classroom area. Regular attenders use the touch-screen kiosk to enter the last four digits of their phone number, and then select their name. Once you select your record, the system will print security labels with a unique security number that must be matched when you pick up your child. Multiple labels will print; one will go on your child and one you will keep (preferably wear) as a "security tag". Your area may print more labels, and you may use those to label your child's belongings. (i.e. - diaper bag, bottle, etc.)
Each child is required to be escorted by a parent or guardian during drop off, and must be picked up by a parent who will present the "security tag" to the teacher. For those in the Nursery and 2's District, you will pick up a vibrating pager and write the pager number on your child's nametags/labels. The pager and "security tag" must be turned in when picking up your child.
Guests and those needing to update their contact information need to visit the Discovery Town Info Center in the Planter Area of the church.
Your cooperation of the security/Check-in system ensures the security of your children.
